Affordable Veterinary Care
Through our affordable veterinary care initiative, RSO Foundation strives to identify and remove barriers to accessible and affordable veterinary care for all animals. Studies have shown that inability to afford veterinary care is currently the largest factor that is preventing people from bringing pets in for routine as well as emergency medical services. Financial strain was followed by lack of transportation to care facilities, lack of education concerning facility location, lack of supplies to transport the pets (leashes and carriers, etc.) and language barriers.
The RSO Foundation is committed to identifying the barriers that are most prevalent in any given area and funding programs that find new and innovative ways to overcome them. We believe that all animals deserve the benefit of some level of medical care and we hope to help them receive these necessary services.
CAMP
The Spay Neuter Project of Los Angeles has a mission to substantially reduce animal shelter euthanasia and intake by providing high quality, low-cost veterinary services to underserved communities in the Los Angeles area. Through an Affordable Spay and Neuter and Veterinary Wellness program as well as Low Cost Vaccine Clinics, a Neonatal Kitten Nursery and Community Outreach and Advocacy, the organization has provided critical care for countless animals. Since inception in 2007, they have provided sterilization procedures for 250,000 animals and played a key role in significantly reducing the euthanasia rate at LA city shelters. The RSO Foundation believes strongly in the mission of SNPLA and, through a substantial grant, has provided funding for a significant upgrade in the organization’s mobile wellness program, funding for a unique and innovative Veterinary Training Program and funding for the continuation of the Kitten Lifesaving Program.
